Weaving Basics

A weave name describes how yarn systems cross. It does not, by itself, identify the fibre, place of origin, maker, date, durability, or cultural meaning of a textile. These guides begin with structure and observation. When an example belongs to a named tradition or community, the source and limits of that example should remain visible.
